Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Monday urged
the people to reject the Left Democratic Front
in Kerala as it was following the path of confrontation
and the BJP which was spreading the poison of
communal divide.
Winding up the second leg of her campaigning for
the Assembly elections here this evening, she
said the Congress led United Democratic Front's
victory was imperative to sustain the momentum
of growth in Kerala.
Hitting out at the political opponents, Sonia
Gandhi said the LDF had a negative agenda and
believed in the path of confrontation.
"They speak one thing when in power and quite
another language when in opposition," she
said.
She said people should reject parties like the
BJP which "spread poison" among the
people to create communal divide. "They are
undertaking yatras from time to time. They should
not forget the pain caused by the earlier yatras
to the common man," she added.
Democratic Indira Congress (Karunakaran) President
K Muraleedharan said it was a special moment for
him to share the dias with Ms Sonia Gandhi.
He said the UDF would go united and there would
not be any scope for a split after the elections.
